Opened in 1886. The unknown architect of the building clearly had the idea in his/her mind of the Middle Ages when he/she constructed this prison.

  • Gothic style, similar to the old Tennessee State Prison in Nashville (a.k.a. "The Walls"), meant to invoke fear as the structures are incredibly imposing and cold. Probably modeled after the old Auburn Correctional Facility in New York.
