This is a small rural village living mostly from agriculture and from the income generated by wood and wood transformation industry. Its population is joyful and parties and celebrations are organised anytime the opportunity presents itself. The most known of these celebrations is the HarmoVaso, a music festival with accordions, harmoniums and concertinas.
Its name derives most likely from the numerous chestnut trees that existed there in long gone times and still exist in lesser quantities.
