There is a sign next to the front door that reads:
==================================================
This site was once a swampy bush that was obtained by the Harrison Hot
Springs Community Association and cleared in 1945. The "Community Hall"
was completed by volunteers and opened in 1951. In 1955 the building
was renamed "Memorial Hall" in memory of those who sacrificed their lives
for their country. In 1960 the Memorial Hall was purchased from the
Community Association by the Village for the sum of $9000.00
