It is opened on May, 15th, 1935, it is opened again on November, 7th, 1958
Architects A.I. Gontskevich and S. Sulin.
Until December, 24th, 1946 it was called «the Komintern Street», until November, 5th, 1990 iot was called "Kalininsky". Since 1991 the official name has been "Vozdvizhenka".

The station sits at a depth of 7 metres. At the station there are 3 rows of 30 octagonal columns. Distinctive features are curvature of platforms, unique among first stage stations, and a lateral arrangement of the platforms connected by the arch bridge.

Station walls are covered by pink marble. Columns (except the central row) also are faced with marble. Transitive corridors are finished by white and yellow marble, a white tile. In the foyer connecting an exit on street Vozdvizhenka, is an escalator to the "Arbat" station and the bridge connecting to "the Aleksandrovsky garden» station.

The bust of M.I. Kalinin placed when the station was established remains even though the station is no longer named Kalininsky.
