Ridder Mine (Ridder)

Kazakhstan / Sigis Kazakstan / Riddir / Ridder
factory, mine, copper mine, production, lead production / processing, zinc mine/processing, gold mine

A Gold Mine in Kazakhstan owned by Glencore. The main products of Ridder-Sokolny ore processing are gravity and flotation Gold concentrates with some side credits in the form of zinc and copper concentrates. Around 70% of the ore is mined using sublevel (partially block) caving and 30% by room and pillar mining with backfill using various portable process equipment such as scraper winches, boring rigs and hammer drills. Small size mobile equipment is currently being introduced at the mine which shall considerably increase labour efficiency. Proven ore reserves are sufficient to sustain mining at current levels for another 20 years, however recent geological exploration suggests that the orebody may be substantially larger.
