This location is famous for its geology and history and it is thought the escarpment or hill ridge was formed over 200 million years ago. Such was the sandstone's versatility that people carved into Kinver Edge to create their homes and it was only in the 1950's that the last cave dweller vacated this site. One of these cave homes has been preserved to its Victorian-themed splendour to give insight into its unique residence.
On the top of Kinvers Edge is the equally notable Iron Age hill fort that offers spectacular views over its open heaths, woodlands and neighbouring towns.
