Coventry's tribute & memorial to Sir Frank Whittle

The Whittle Arch across the square commemorates Frank Whittle, who invented the jet engine in the Rolls-Royce factory in Coventry. It is made of oval stainless steel rings covered with a stainless steel mesh and supported on stainless steel girder arches and symbolises a bridge from the past to the future.
