The hexagonal fencing marks the location of this stone enclosure and bailey fortress. Founded by John de Warenne in the 13th century little now remains of the Edwardian castle. The only notable features are the sandstone walls and a doorway with a fragment of a wall. The inflictions of the Civil War meant parts of its remaining components were used in the construction of Eaton Hall.
