A tribute to Sir Frank Whittle, it is thought that Lutterworth was the one of workplaces of Sir Frank Whittle, This statue of the plane stands in the middle of a roundabout just south of the town as a memorial.

Having worked in Lutterworth this roundabout is used as a way point, commonly both commuters & locals refers to the junction as spitfire roundabout
