Assam.It's a big & important Rly.junction connecting Lumding through NC hills in one end and Silchar in other end in the Barak valley.It plays important role in the communication,transport of essential commodities to the states of Mizoram,Manipur& Tripura through roads& railways.Badarpur is situated on the bank of river Barak and has it's scenic beauty as surrounded by hills."Destination Badarpur" by train from Lumding about 116km in hill section through 37 tunnels along with the Jatinga river is a rare experience.this is the oldest block of karimganj district.In history Badarpur is renouned because near Badarpur,there is a fort of Kachari raja.
