Alton, Illinois is one of the most haunted towns in America. Built in 1869, the McPike Mansion is said to be haunted by two ghosts. Possibly because the materials to build the house came from a demolished hospital from the Civil War.

Although there are many other haunted places in Alton, this is the most famous of sites.
