This place is island formed by the river Thunga and Bhadra. It is situated 10 km from Honnali.It is a holy place comprising of god Rameshwara, Durgamma, Nandi and Shree Halesh temple. Rama visited this place in his vanavasa time and asked anjaneya to lingu from kashi. But it took longer time to anjaneya to bring the lingu so Rama getting late he created the lingu from sand. This we can see in the temple both lingus are present.
