  Built on the banks of the River Weaver during the latter part of the last century. It's location chosen due to the plentiful supply of cheap meat from nearby Wharton. Residents from 'Winsford proper' would descend here in their hundreds (usually on a Friday or Saturday) and it is said that fights would frequently break out over who was going to take the best cuts of meat home.
