  • The name "Upleta" derived from a tree named Upletan. A clean town need to be visited once. Its is also known for the local food like 'Gathiya' and 'Bhajiya'. Come and eat once. You will realy enjoy it.
  • it is also famouse for Old clothes marcket. There is a big market of that type of clothes . This clothes are supply in whole Gujarat.. not enven in gujarat but alos out of Gujarat .As above my friend Girish that it is famouse for "GATHIYA" AND "BAJIYA" That's right right.
  • this the palace known as a realy seculer town if u want to know what is brotherhood then u shoud cum to uplet and see how hindus and muslim r living with peace in here i remeber my childhood in upleta ther was a sad incident in our cuontry the babri masjid incedent i was too young then and scared to see horor picture of riot in mumbai and some parts og our gujrat but thanks to upleta`s peas loving pepol ther was no single harsment incedent to nay one not found in upleta when whole gujrat was borning in 2002 then also i think the upleta was only palace wher not single incident came tookpalace such a peacefull town is upleta i selute my upleta`s pepole
  • Hello guys........... Enjoy watching the wonderful place of kathiyawar (Gujarat). It is really a well developed town. People are very nice in Upleta. Its one of a town of Bhagvat Sinhji Bapu(BE Civil - 1850) who has developed many towns like Dhoraji, Gondal...around 150 years back. He was the first organizer running trains with steam engine in Gujarat. he has built irrigations, drainage systems, wide roads etc... in his golden time of ruling on town which are the best creation forever.   • For me Upleta is the place where i was brought up. It's a cool place in Saurastra where people have peace and harmony.It's a good place to live. It has a good education structure built over there.People come from far to have studies over there. It has a nice somnath temple near to the river.....

  • i am from UPLETA...born (1937) and brought up.now well settled and retired.live in ahmedabad and usa. i liked this site.wish there were more visits to this site and contributions. it is worth referring to old taluka school where i studied.the school still stands there with its magnificent clock tower overlooking Bhadar Road.when i left the town in 1953 the population was 15000.   • I am emotionally attached to this place. During my childhood days, every two years my family used to visit this place from far away ORISSA, since it was our ancestral place even though we had abandoned it five generations ago. Upleta is indeed a beautiful town as I refresh it from my childhood memory despite the fact that I have not been here for over fifteen years. I still remember the beautiful steam train journey from Rajkot to Upleta and then horse driven carriage carrying us to our grandma in the town. I am still searching for an answer, how and when my ancestors (Memons from either Sindh or Kutch) settled into this place. If anybody has an answer then I would definitely be glad to hear from them.
