  • I do not know the history of Bandivade village. But I know a world famous tapestry artist, Mr. Prabhakar Sridhar Naik Satam, who was born in this village on 26th Sept. 1929. He was in Sir J.J. School of Arts in Mumbai and later was also in School of Arts, London. He went to Japan and lived there since then. He has his winter residence in Mumbai and visits Mumbai and Bandivade at least once in a year. Several tapestries of huge sizes (height 495 cms width 397 cms.)are kept in various state and national level museums in Japan. Very few artists in the world have been fortunate to see their creations acquired by museums during their lifetime. He has written his autobiography in Marathi named "Zallal". The translation of the same in English and Japanese would be available soon.
