The Kollegienhaus has been the principal lecture hall for theology and liberal arts for nearly a century. It was here that Werner Elert, Paul Althaus, Walther von Loewenich, Wilhelm Maurer, Ethelbert Stauffer, Hermann Strathmann, and the like, held forth. Once, as a prank, several male students hoisted Prof Georg Kempff's small car, a Dixi, up on the second floor of this building. How Kempff got his car back down again, and whether the villains were ever apprehended, is unknown to me. Lowell C. Green
