La Honda is a census-designated place (CDP) in southern San Mateo County, California, United States. The population was 928 at the 2010 census.

The small town is comprised of approximately 300 homes. Formerly an area of San Franciscan's summer homes, many have been enlarged and or remodeled resulting in an eclectic architectural mix housing a diverse permanent population. Cuesta La Honda home owners association is responsible for delivering spring-sourced water, trails and public grounds maintenance, etc. A restaurant, market, veterinarian, real estate office and Apple Jack's Bar front the highway.
