The holiest place for the devotee of Swaminarayan. This place has historical importance for its temple. The Old Swaminarayan temple (Gopinathjidev Mandir) was built by none other than Lord Swaminarayan himself alongwith the other devotee.
This town was built by Khachars (Kathis) around 500 Years ago. They built a fort all around town (Gadh) hence the town was named Gadhada.

The Kathis came to the region in early 17th or lat 16th century. Before that this place was part of Vallabhi and has an ancient history as well
