The theatre is active in the former Prague variety, founded in 1881, in the same year, when it was first opened the National Theater. Karlin variety is ranked among the most popular houses of its kind on the European continent.
Musical Theater Karlín states operetta and musicals.
In 2002, the historic theater was hit and destroyed in large parts, almost in the pit by huge flood and had been reconstructed. In the autumn of 2006 was the theater renovated and opened again.
