Above the train station, on the second and third floors one will find the Station Hotel. It is also known as 'The Majestic' or 'The Heritage Hotel'. This glorious colonial style hotel is part of Ipoh Railway Station. Built in 1917, the hotel was back then a 'first class accommodation' for the city visitors.

Today, this once-grand building is in a sad state of neglect. The rooms do not have anymore the colonial luxury they had in the early 20th Century. It has all faded. However, it is not all that bad, much of the facade still remains and fittings still in tact. The banisters and wooden stairs stand firm and proud in their original places, and the slow iron elevator makes the journey up to the third floor charmingly pleasant. It is no longer 1910 or 1920 but still pleasant enough.
