The two Bay Class 140ft Icebreaking Tugs stationed at CG Station Bayonne, the Penobscot & Sturgeon Bay provide icebreaking services for New York Harbor & the Hudson River, often deploying as far North as Albany during the Winter to maintain shipping channels. During the Summer, the cutters perform the traditional USCG missions of Maritime Law Enforcement, Security Patrols and Search & Rescue services.
