The Belfountain Conservation area is operated by the Credit Valley Conservation Authority. The west branch of the Credit River flows through the conservation area. The original owner, C.W. Mack (inventor fo the cushion backed rubber stamp) used the property for his summer residence. He built a waterfall, suspension bridge, and caves which all still exist.
The conservation area now is a nice day trip from Toronto for picnics, or as a base for hiking on the the Trimble Trail, a side trail on the Bruce Trail.
