  • Watkins Park Plaza first opened in the fall of 1986, boasting a Safeway, Peoples Drug, a post office and a new Upper Marlboro branch of the Prince George's County Public Library. While Safeway and the post office remain to this day, Peoples Drug became a CVS in the spring of 1994, while the library moved to a bigger location off Harry S. Truman drive in Largo, adjacent to Phyllis E. Williams Elementary School.
