Claremont Conservation Area.

The Claremont Conservation area covers approximately 160 hectare's and is located in northern Pickering. This site was once operated as a park facility which was open to the public for picnics and other family activities (1960's to 1980's). The park was closed down sometime in the 1980's (assumed to be due to budget cuts). The site is no longer maintained as a park and roadway access has been blocked for sometime. The main entrance has enough space for several cars and you can still gain access into the park via bike or foot; as a result it is still frequented by hikers and cyclist alike. In addition to the main entrance, the site is also accesible by foot off any of the concession roads surrounding the area.
