City of Westminster Local Authority housing Estate. Contains Westbourne Village Area Estate Office.
The Brunel Estate, begun in the 1960s and completed in 1974, was built on derelict railway land. The form of the estate plan is a triangle, with a playground in the north-west corner, and a day nursery at the north east-corner. It is a high-density housing estate that includes tower-blocks. The Brunel estate was named after Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who designed the Great Western Railway.
