  Upload date 29.12.07/ Village mahal(Amritsar) is highly pollutted with toxic heavy metals such as mercury, lac, cadmium, copper, chromium and arsenic. As result villagers have got numbness,miscarriages and rashes.As per the study report from Gurunanak Dev University,there is achance of getting childbirth with malformtions even without skull.

  Mahal village is a mixture of slum and middle class family people, its a small village with 850 houses approximately. Industries include metal works and farming. mostly people work in main amritsar city. water is polluted but no cases of misscarriage or water related cancers have been reported. the place is as safe as any other place on earth. Health department has not quoted any case of babies born without skull. babies born without skull (Anencephaly) is cause of multiple factors and not just polluted water. the wrong propaganda by some people with vested interests has ben proved as hoax in multiple mass screening programes by health department.

  Village Mahal, situated very close to Amritsar city, has developed to a larger extent with the efforts of the residents of the Mahal village. Things are turning towards the better side now. Municipal corporation is considering it as a part of city, But the allocated funds are not spent on the welfare of this village rather it has gone into the pockets of so called Ministers. Government of Punjab should consider this as their responsibility to develop the rural areas lying close to Amritsar city.

  Mahal village is not only a village, it is a land of religious propagation. Some high profile families from Amritsar city are residing here. Not even a single case of miscarriage due to pollution has been reported till date. People who raise false propaganda must try to investigate the facts, they must check water pollution of other colonies of amritsar city like sandhu colony whose TDS is 1500-1600 whereas TDS of Mahal is only 250-270. Being a safer place covered with three historical gurudrwaras and a dera of Radha Swamy, people buying plots to settling in Mahal.
