  • The sedimentary sucession of Book Clif (near Hatch Mesa) was deposited in a variety of different depositional environments including offshore shelf, wave-dominated shoreface, river-dominated delta, coastal plan with swamps and braided alluvial systems. During Late Cretaceous this region was a broad coastal plain and shoreface system beside the Western Interior Seaway (on the right side of this area).
