Norrits is the name of the farm.
The region west from Noordhorn and north of the Rijksstraatweg is named Norritsveld. Norrits or Norris was the leader of an English regiment in Spanish service. He faught in 1581 and took Munnekezijl, booked a victory on the Spanish troops near Grijpskerk, but was beaten on September 30th 1581 by the Spanish townholder Verdugo.
