Originally, a private mental institution of Dr.Usoltsev; the wall around the clinic is built by architect Shekhtel basing on drawings by artist Vrubel - who was once an in-patient. In 1915, the clinic was used as a hospital for WW1 soldiers with head wounds and mental/nervous conditions; after the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, Dr.Usoltsev organized in the hospital a sanatorium for patients with neuro diseases. After the local village the sanatorium was named Konshino but, since most of the patients were female, it was renamed as "8 March Mental Sanatorium" (after the International Women's Day); later, the name was alo given to the street. Since 1930, the sanatorium was converted into the Central Moscow Regional Psychiatry Clinic
