One of Seattle's oldest Microbreweries, Big Time was founded way back in 1988. The bar itself is a favorite of UW students and can be loud and crowded at odd hours, but there is always a generous mix of locals and beer lovers to balance things out. The beer is usually great- especially the frequently rotating seasonals. If you're their in spring, try the Trombipulator, a Belgian Triple that will knock you on your butt. They're usually pouring between ten and twelve of their beers at any given time.

Big Time has always seemed content just doing it's own thing and never attempted to grow huge or change a winning formula, and that's easy to appreciate. The brewery part of building is really small and their yearly production is likely very low. You'll only occasionally find a Big Time tap being poured around town. When you're ready to leave you can get more beer to go in Growlers, Boxes, and 22oz bottles.
