  • i think they are going to take out the track and move the stands closer (somehow) to the football field. other plans include closing in the east end of the stadium, making it fully enclosed.
  • And remove the nearby Softball field in the process and build a new one next to the Huskies Soccer Field.
  • And pay for it all with.... taxpayer dollars, perhaps?? Increased tuition? Or maybe we should just capture the Oregon Ducks, and make them do all the work for free, as a sort of Prisoner of War labor project? Hey, like I always say, Bow Down to Washington!

  • Current plans for expansion involve lowering the field by about 30 feet, replacing the current track with additional seating. Also included is a major retrofit of the existing lower sections, making them compatible with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and other safety measures. The University has proposed using a tax that's set to expire within the next few years. The current tax on hotels, taxis, and other travel would be extended by a few more years and would pay for the majority of renovations to the stadium. This stadium's current maximum capacity is more than 70,000, which is more than the Seahawks' Qwest Field (about 60,000) and more than double the Washington State University's Martin Field (about 35,000+)
