The statue, representing Johann Sebastian Bach, was created by Carl Seffner in 1908.
In the Summer time the "Monday Concerts by the Bach Statue" are held here.
This is the second Bach's statue, the first one, erected at the suggestion of Mendelssohn Bartholdy was unveiled in 1843 and can be found in the park by Dittrichring opposite St. Thomas's Church.
