The Moda Center at the Rose Quarter (formerly known as the Rose Garden Arena) is a multipurpose indoor arena in Portland, Oregon. It has an all-seater capacity of 19,740. The primary tenant is the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA and the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL also play some games in the arena. Other sports teams that have played in the arena are the Portland Forest Dragons of the AFL (1997-1999), the Portland Pythons of the WISL (1998-1999), the Portland Fire of the WNBA (2000-2002), and the Portland LumberJax of the NLL (2006-2009). It is also the venue for many concerts.
The Rose Garden was designed by Ellerbe Becket and cost $262,000,000 to construct between July 1993 and October 1995. It has a concrete-framed structure with a steel roof. The arena has a floor area of 785,000 sq ft (72,900 sq m). There are 14,000 permanent seats on two levels and between them are 70 luxury boxes. For smaller, more intimate events, the arena can be converted into a 6,500-seat theatre configuration known as the "Theater of the Clouds".
Events hosted at the Rose Garden Arena include the 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the 2007 NLL All-Star Game.
