Hawthorn Hill was designed by Orville & Wilbur Wright and was intended to be their joint residence. Unfortunately, Wilbur died before the home was completed in 1914. Orville Wright lived there with his father, Milton, and his sister, Katherine.
After Orville's death in 1948, the home was purchased by the NCR Corporation. It was donated to the Wright Family Foundation in 2006. Today the home is open for scheduled tours.
