Takhel is a Tripura language . I don't know very deep about this . But the name reflects some Historical links between these two neighbouring states. This is the feature of a kind narrow and long pond. It was dug during the reign of King Garibanibas as a means of protection from enemies .10 years from now decorated with a large varieties of water lillies, lotus and its water was served for drinking.But now , its so polluted that we don't even want to use in toilets. This is not only the responsibility of the govt. but also the attitude of every individual of our locality to save this heritage from pollution and extinction.
