village, interesting place

Small village in rural area, at the heart of a region called the Land van "Heusden en Altena" between the big rivers (Rhine and Meuse). The name Babyloniënbroek is derived from Villa Babylonia, an outpost of a monastery near Heusden in the 8th century. The story goes that the monks jokingly chose this name because they found the locals so barbaric.
