  • I heard this is the place where baseball hall of famer Babe Ruth a homer back in the 1930s. He and one other player at the time are the only MLB players in the league's history to do so. I wonder if it's true, though.
  • I watched a number of games in thisstadium in 1946. A baseball, name and date were painted on the outfield fence for home runs. In addition to Babe Ruth, there wee a number of other players names on the fence. Joe Gargiola had more than anyone when he played srvice baseball for the Manila Dodgers. He left the team in time to play in the 1946 World Series for the St. Louis Cardinals.
