Mesquita is a Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. Its population in 2005 was 182 546 inhabitants. Before becoming county, was part of New Delhi (Fifth District) and to be freed after a long court battle.

With the emancipation of the Mosque, the access road and the entrance to City Park in New Delhi were located in the new municipality. Municipal Park New Delhi is the first geopark of the State of Rio de Janeiro. This park has a volcanic crater and associated rock types, as well as remnants of the Atlantic. Mosque also has many waterfalls and forests.
