Dead-end and turnaround spot (Beppu)

Oita prefecture, Beppu - This square marks the end of the road. It is a wide concrete area where you can safely turn a car around. The road up to here is one lane and is too narrow to make a u-turn. Some people, afraid that the road will end in a dead end, back up before they get here. This is an adequate parking spot for mountain climbing. JD
