World's Largest Effigy Mound.
1,330 ft serpent constructed in a crypto-explosion area
One of the finest examples of prehistoric American Indian effigy mounds built on a ridge above Brush Creek. The serpent mound is 1330 feet long and at times 5 feet high. The original mound was outlined by stones and then covered with dirt basket by basket. A museum nearby traces the history of the mound and the region.
