Almere City Centre

Netherlands / Flevoland / Almere /
downtown / central business district, neighbourhood

This is the centre of the planned city of Almere. It has recently been partly demolished and redeveloped. The design was made by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and the Office of Metropolitan Architecture, OMA.
The original downtown has themed street names after old professions and the new downtown streets are named after fortification terms (Citadel, Belfort and Castellum)
