Atherstone Station is in a charming town of Atherstone. The station is close to the River Anker and the Coventry Canal actually runs through the town. Athertonstone has a long and illustrious history dating back to Roman times and many claim that the Battle of Bosworth Field that saw Henry Tudor rise to the throne and establish a new dynasty actually took place in the fields just north of Atherstone.
