With the creation of the St Lawrence Seaway and Power Project, the village of Dickinsons Landing was one of ten communities lost with the construction of the Robert Moses - Robert H Saunders Power Dam.
Flooding began at 8:00 AM on July 1 1958 and took four days to reach it's final water level.
Population at the time was around 200.
