The UMaine Heating Plant,located at 119 College Ave., was originally built in 1907 and has undergone nine renovations since then. The plant has an interior area of 11,651 square feet, five oil-fired boilers that produce an average of 47,000 pounds of steam per hour and operates 365 days a year.
