The Monongalia County Courthouse Complex houses county most major government functions, including the commission, assessor, sherriff and clerks offices.

The Romanesque Revival courthouse was designed by Pittsburgh-architect James Bailey and features a statue from the original 1848 courhouse of Old Dominion statesman Patrick Henry.
