At this site is a large rectangular man-made depression of about two to three feet in depth, perhaps 120 feet by 60 feet in area, that the Air Force fire engines would come fill with water once freezing weather became routine in winter months. The pond would quickly freeze into an ice rink used by base residents.

  • My brother and I learned how to ice skate on this man made pond back in the '60s. We lived directly across the street and also attended Randall Elementary School.
