This small gold mine was operated by Black Hawk Mining from 1997 until 2001. When it closed, the mine owed over $3 million in back taxes to the town. However, on September 20, 2004 Glencairn Gold Corporation announced that it settled the tax dispute between the town and Black Hawk Mining Inc., which was a subsidiary company.
