909 Walnut, located in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri, stands 471 ft (144 m) and has 35 floors. Until 2001, the address was 911 Walnut Street. It also has a floor area of 44,374 sq m (477,638 sq ft). Designed by Holt, Price & Barnes, it was built from 1930 to 1931 at a cost of $2,850,000 and was originally named the Fidelity National Bank and Trust Company Building. In 1946, it was renamed the Federal Office Building. The Severe Local Storms Warning Service was headquartered in the building from 1954 until 1995. The building was unoccupied from 1995 until 2005.

From 2003 to 2005, 909 Walnut underwent a $64,000,000 renovation. The building now has 180 apartment units, commercial office space on floors 2-4, and a restaurant on the ground floor.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 14, 1997.
