memorial, submarine, United States Navy, museum ship, U.S. National Historic Landmark
A former Navy submarine that now rests here as a museum attraction. She's got a good service record, and currently is the only vessel to conduct an international submarine-to-submarine rescue. This rescue occured when it saved the crew of a Dutch sub near Indonesia during the final days of World War II. Touring the USS Cod is not recommended for the claustrophobic!
