  Atheras is a small but beautiful village with roughly 200 residents. 2 miles along the village there is a small beautiful sandy beach. The beach is fine sand with a few stones and rocks and shelves gently into the of clear water. Thought by some to be Forcys where Odysseus was left by the Faeacians after his voyage back from his adventures.
